🧠The Fernando Lopes da Silva Neuroengineering Program was created to honor the remarkable Prof. Fernando Lopes da Silva, a Portuguese pioneer in neuroscience, who shaped our understanding of brain rhythms, and who believed in bridging disciplines and countries.
🙌 Today, that vision continues to thrive. The program is proud to host its first Portuguese student, Tomás Caldeira, a Biomedical Engineering student from Instituto Superior Técnico, at the UtrechtBCI (UMC Utrecht/Utrecht University).
💡 This milestone reflects our commitment to advancing neurotechnology through collaboration between engineering and neuroscience, keeping alive Lopes da Silva’s efforts to build a strong scientific link between Portugal 🇵🇹 and the Netherlands 🇳🇱.
The program was co-founded by João Miguel Sanches, PatrÃcia Figueiredo, Nick Ramsey, and Mariana Branco, to create opportunities for talented minds across Europe.
