ABOUT ME

I have always been driven by a passion for problem solving and the power of computers as problem solving tools lead me to study computer science as an undergrad at Beloit Collage, WI and as a masters student at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands. However, the human brain remains the best tool for solving problems and during my study I became more and more interested in figuring out how the brain works. When an opportunity to work with Eric Leuthardt in the field of BCI for my PhD research at Washington University in St. Louis came along I saw it as the perfect way to combine my background of computer science with my interest in studying the human brain. I see BCIs as advanced tools for helping humans solve problems and I am excited to now be back in the Netherlands as a member of Nick Ramsey’s  group that works to provide daily use BCI tools for people suffering from LIS.
