ABOUT Annike
Annike’s main research interest lies in the understanding of mechanisms underlying neurological disorders, with the aim to use this knowledge to help improve quality of life for people with a disability. In the Utrecht-BCI lab, she investigates whether somatosensory feedback of the mental strategy used to control a BCI can improve BCI training and performance.
Annike has a BSc degree in Psychobiology and an MSc degree in Brain and Cognitive Sciences, both at the University of Amsterdam. She obtained a PhD in Human Movement Sciences at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, investigating the underlying neural mechanisms of impaired walking development in children with cerebral palsy. She worked as a teacher for the BSc Psychobiology until she joined the Utrecht-BCI lab as a postdoc on the NOTION project.
